- Futuhat-i Firuz Shahi
- What might be called an "official" his-tory is represented by the copy of Firuz Shah Tughlaq's lengthy in-scription that has come down to us as Futuhat-i Firuz Shahi (Gifts of Firuz Shah). In this text, the sultan himself reveals clearly the ortho-dox Islamic credentials for which he wished to be remembered, namely, the abandonment of harsh punishments, the abolition of unauthorized taxes, the suppression of deviant forms of Islamic prac-tices, the destruction of newly built Hindu temples, the promotion of conversions to Islam, and the foundation of new mosques and schools.
